Want $100 for eating pizza?

Pizza Party’s Pep Pep Pep Pepperoni Pizza

How does one go about winning $100 for eating pizza you ask? Easy, just finish our Belly Buster (20-inch pizza) topped with pepperoni, pepperoni Bagel Bites, pepperoni Pizza Rolls & pepperoni Hot Pockets in under 1 hour. It shouldn’t be tough because it’s so darned tasty!

Many have tried the Belly Buster Challenge but few have won. Hot dog eating champ of the world Joey “The Jaws” Chestnut held the record time of 17 minutes for quite a while but just recently Erik “The Red” Denmark broke it at 12 minutes 30 seconds. The images below are of a 12-inch medium pizza (click to enlarge).

“Build Your Own” Field Trip

We had a group of 50 kids in today to build their own pizzas. We gave them a tour of the parlous including the walk-in fridge (it’s like Narnia). We also show them how we make dough and how their pizzas “come to life”. After washing their kiddie paws they get to sauce and top their own pizzas….mmmmmmm.

Pizza Party is Restaurant Owner Tip of Week

restaurantowner

How Visible are You to Your Customers?

Last week we had an interesting conversation with Bear Silber, the co-owner of Pizza Party in Santa Clara, CA. Pizza Party is a single unit restaurant that has been in business since 1962.

If you go to Pizza Party’s home page at www.PizzaPartyOnline.com you’ll find a personal welcome message from Bear as well as an invitation to contact him personally with any questions, comments and suggestions. His cell phone and email address are right there.

Bear says this gives him the ability to talk to his customers one on one immediately without any delay and to handle any problems quickly, right on the spot. He also said his customers love it.

How accessible are you to your customers?

As an independent owner, being this accessible and easy to reach is something that your local competitors probably aren’t doing and the chains by their nature can’t do.

Here’s an opportunity to differentiate your restaurant from everyone else. Show your customers how much you care about them by being out there, up front and easy to get to.
